Through the Foundation, professional visual artists visit art classrooms each spring. The career artists share samples of their own artwork, discuss their inspirations, and demonstrate the techniques they employ to create their art. The children interact with the artists and are encouraged to ask questions.

After the career artists’ visits, the children create their own original works inspired by the career artists’ works or other professional artwork. Selections of student art are exhibited at the Foundation’s annual Young at Art: Art Show alongside the professional work that inspired them.

As a thank you to our collaborating professional artists, the Stafford Township Education Foundation hosts an annual Artist Gallery Night in September. Artist Gallery Night is a zero-commission event meaning the Foundation allows all participating artists to retain 100% of their earnings from the sale of works onsite. The event is held in the Stafford Township Arts Center’s Lobby Gallery.

 

 

Next year, admission to the Young at Art: Art Show will again be FREE thanks to efforts of the Art Show Committee and generous community partners. The entire community is welcome to attend. At the event the professional works donated by the career artists will be available for public sale and attendees can participate in a new SUPER 50/50 Raffle drawing as well as the possibility of winning a free door prize. The net proceeds from the public event (raffle tickets, program book advertising, etc.) will benefit the continuation of  creative and innovative learning practices, both in and out of the classroom, for our friends at the Stafford Township School District.
